Jaipur, 10 September 2024: The 11th foundation day of Bird Freedom Day was celebrated on Sunday with a unique ‘Kavi Sammelan’ at Jaipur Marriott Hotel. Hosts Vipin Kumar Jain and Ruchika Jain said that the Bird Freedom Day campaign, which they launched in 2014 is celebrated on the second Sunday of September to raise the voice for the freedom of mute birds from cages. A grand ‘Kavi Sammelan’ titled “An Evening Dedicated to Birds” was also organized to mark the occasion.

Firoz Khan, known for his portrayal of Arjuna in the Mahabharata TV series, graced the event as the chief guest. He expressed his happiness for being a part of the program and enjoyed listening to the poets at the event. He remarked that the campaign, which started 11 years ago, has now gained international recognition. Firoz Khan also shared insights from his film career during the event.

Ruchika Jain noted that to celebrate the 11th year of the campaign, 11 poets came together to raise their voices for the freedom of birds from cages. During the program, poet Kishore Pareek recited, “Early in the morning, birds come home, Shri Radhe.” “Perhaps they sing something, Shri Radhe.”  “We too keep grain and water in the courtyard, and smile a little with them, Shri Radhe.”

Poet Varun Chaturvedi touched hearts with two soulful couplets, and Rajesh Khandelwal “Rajuwa” captivated the audience with his poem, “Do not destroy the trees like this, to burn my pyre.” Other poets who participated in the event included Vidya Bhagwan Sahay Pareek, young poet Satpal Soni, Rajesh Khandelwal “Rajuwa”, Ved Dadhich, Dr Santosh Charan , Balmukund Purohit, Amit Azad, Satya Prakash Upadhyay, Vishal Gupta, and Dr. Sushila Sheel.

It is noteworthy that Bird Freedom Day, which advocates for the liberation of birds from cages, is now celebrated worldwide, having started at an international level in Chicago last year. The event also featured the world’s largest art exhibition on the theme of Bird Freedom Day, held at Hotel Jaipur Marriott.

Dignitaries present at this year’s celebration included Mayor Soumya Gurjar, BJP leader Shravan Bagdi, Advocate Lalit Sharma, and Om Prakash, Director of Sahyog School and Rituraj Sharma among others.
