New Delhi, Haryana (India), September 13, 2024: A 19-year-old philanthropist, Hardik Kumar Dewan, has been honoured by the India Book of Records for his significant contributions to various social causes. Hardik, who began his philanthropic journey at the tender age of 15, has made a notable impact in areas such as youth empowerment, education, healthcare, technological advancement, women empowerment, child development and climate change.

The India Book of Records recognised Hardik for his initiatives, including the ‘Greenify India’ campaign aimed at promoting environmental sustainability, the ‘Foodonation Campaign’ to provide food to underprivileged communities, and the development of the ‘Co-Terminator Shield’ to assist frontline medical workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In response to the recognition, Hardik expressed his gratitude and emphasised the importance of teamwork in achieving such accomplishments. “Receiving the India Book of Records recognition for philanthropy inspires me to work even harder for the people of India. Every effort I make, every step I take, every initiative I lead, is dedicated to the progress of our nation, and I remain committed to serving society and contributing to its growth,” he stated.

He established the Hardik Dewan Foundation in 2021, a philanthropic organisation focused on women’s empowerment, child development, education, healthcare, technological development, youth empowerment, and climate change. He is a first year student pursuing BA LLB (Hons) from Vivekananda School of Law and Legal Studies, New Delhi.

One of the foundation’s most notable initiatives is the GREENIFY campaign, which promotes environmental sustainability through tree planting and community engagement. The ‘Foodonation Campaign’ has been instrumental in addressing food insecurity by providing meals to underprivileged communities.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Hardik’s innovative spirit led to the creation of the ‘CO-TERMINATOR SHIELD’, a protective device designed to support frontline medical workers. “The pandemic highlighted the true heroes in our society,” he shared. “I felt the need to contribute in any way I could to support our healthcare workers.”

Apart from his philanthropic endeavours, Hardik has also made significant strides in technology and entrepreneurship. He developed ‘Beetle Messenger’, an Indian messaging application that garnered over 20,000 downloads. His impressive portfolio of initiatives includes:

  • Beetle: India’s indigenous messaging platform focused on privacy and national issues, launched by Hardik.
  • Co-Terminator Shield: A protective shield developed for medical practitioners, featuring air cooling, ionisation, SOS systems, and mobile application connectivity during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • ItsCoolApp: Co-developed school management software under the Digital India Initiative, benefiting over 2000+ students and streamlining educational processes.
  • Foodonation: A campaign under the Hardik Dewan Foundation aimed at reducing food waste and providing food to underprivileged communities.
  • Greenify India: An environmental initiative promoting sustainability, focusing on tree planting, climate action, and community engagement, aligned with UN SDGs.
  • World Teen Parliament: Hardik was elected as a Member of Parliament (representing India) in the world’s first and only global parliament for teenagers, an initiative by UNESCO-MGIEP and Save The Children.
  • Book, ‘Why India Needs Its AJNA?’: A book by Hardik focused on developing India’s indigenous technological ecosystem, appreciated by the Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu,  Hon’ble Vice President of India, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar and more.

Hardik’s election to the World Teen Parliament is an indication that his impact crosses national boundaries. His influence extends to the digital realm as well. Recently, he organised Haryana’s first and largest YouTubers and Influencers Meet in Gurugram, engaging over 70 digital influencers with a combined reach of 100 million+ on social media. This event was attended by prominent figures, including Haryana Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini, further highlighting Hardik’s ability to bring together influential personalities from both the online and offline worlds.
