Dr Santharupan Subramanian: A Culinary Journey from Jaffna to London

Born on October 14th, 1985, in Pannagam, Jaffna, Sri Lanka, Santharupan Subramanian’s journey has been a testament to the fusion of passion, tradition, and innovation. After completing his schooling at Pannagam Meihendan Maha Vidhyalayam, Santharupan embarked on a new chapter by moving to the UK in 2002, eventually settling in Hounslow, London.

In 2006, he found his calling in the hospitality industry, starting as a chef and steadily rising to become a manager by 2010. In 2012, he took a bold step forward by establishing his own restaurant, HONEYMOON, in Hounslow. Specializing in authentic Sri Lankan cuisine, HONEYMOON quickly became a beacon for locals, ranking as the second-best restaurant out of 168 in the area.

At HONEYMOON, Santharupan’s vision is clear: to transport diners to Sri Lanka through the flavors of his homeland. With a focus on authenticity, the restaurant offers a culinary experience that resonates with the essence of Sri Lankan culture. Notably, HONEYMOON boasts a modern banqueting facility with a capacity of 350 people, making it a premier choice for weddings, birthday parties, corporate events, and private functions in the area.

Santharupan’s commitment to excellence extends beyond the kitchen. He believes in giving back to his community, exemplified by his generous donation of 20,00,000 Rupees to Pannagam Meihanda Maha Vidhyalayam, where he received his education. Additionally, he sponsors at least one charity trust every month, embodying the values of compassion and social responsibility.
