Following the overwhelming success of the 2022 and 2023 Durga Puja celebrations, MBCA is returning for its third and largest year, expanding to a bigger venue at BKC (Bandra Kurla Complex) as MBCA Durgapuja & India Festival .  The event will take place during Durga Puja/Navratri at the MMRDA Ground in BKC from October 8th to October 13th, 2024.

Excitement is at an all-time high as this year MBCA has partnered with UMED (Maharashtra State Rural Livelihood Mission) to ensure it is a massive success. National Award-winning actor and Bengali cinema icon Rituparna Sengupta is set to lead the Mumbai Bengali Cultural Association (MBCA) in organizing this year’s Durga Puja celebration, a role previously held by singer Kumar Sanu, who served as brand ambassador for the past two years.

In the city’s festivities, the presence of Bollywood stars has always been significant. Over the last two years, celebrities such as Dharmendra, Anupam Kher, Alka Yagnik, Mouni Roy, Rituparna Sengupta, and the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde, among many others, have graced the MBCA event.

Talking about the event, the COO of UMED, Mr. Parameshwar Raut shared, “When MBCA approached us with this collaboration, we were pleased to be part of the event. Participating in this event will encourage the hard work of rural women and serve as a great opportunity to showcase their talent. This platform provides an excellent way to present our various artisans, their art, and their culture to the public.”

“When asked about the collaboration, Sanjay Kolkatawala and Niladri Roy, the Founder-Directors of MBCA, shared, “We are delighted to team up with UMED for a good cause and to showcase talents through these festivities. Our goal is to make a significant impact by actively promoting Indian artisans and culture. Each space has been thoughtfully designed to be both aesthetically pleasing and interactive, promising an immersive shopping and community experience under one roof. We are grateful to CEO of UMED Mr. Ruchesh Jayvanshi, Mr Vishal Yadav- the Mission Manager of RSETIs, and Mr Prabhakar Akkanawru from for making this dream collaboration a reality.”
